Synopsis
In this second chapter of the “Abriendo Camino” project, the brave FEDME Women’s Mountaineering Team embarks on an exciting expedition to explore the majestic mountains that rise along the east coast of Greenland.
During this exciting journey, the mountaineers immerse themselves in the untamed beauty of the region, facing the unique challenges that the polar terrain presents.
The expedition takes place in a self-managed base camp spanning an impressive 30 days. This camp serves as a strategic epicenter from which the intrepid mountaineers plan and execute their forays into the region’s towering peaks.
Self-management adds an additional component of skill and resilience to the challenge, highlighting the team’s ability to adapt and excel in adverse conditions. A significant milestone of this intrepid trek is the opening of big wall climbing routes in the glacier cirque known as the “Mythic Circus”.
This extraordinary challenge leads the climbers to explore new frontiers, challenging not only the unforgiving geography of Greenland, but also their own physical and mental limits. The opening of these climbing routes represents not only a technical achievement, but also a testament to the pioneering spirit and determination of the women’s mountaineering team.
Amidst the vast glaciers and imposing peaks, these elite female mountaineers not only defy nature, but also inspire future generations of adventurers to continue exploring and paving the way to the most remote and challenging places on the planet.
